Call to Order

Regional Chair Emmerson called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m. and made the following remarks:

“I would like to begin today’s meeting by acknowledging that York Region extends over lands originally used and occupied by Indigenous Peoples, and on behalf of York Region, I would like to thank First Nations and the Métis for sharing this land.

I would also like to acknowledge the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation as our closest First Nation community.”

Introduction

Bruce Macgregor, Chief Administrative Officer provided Regional Council with background and context of the upcoming planning process to be undertaken by York Region in relation to the Municipal Comprehensive Review.

Paul Freeman, Chief Planner outlined next steps in the planning process over the coming months and provided closing remarks.

November 2019 Council and Committee Meeting Calendar

Regional Chair Emmerson noted rescheduling of Committee of the Whole and Regional Council meetings in November. Committee of the Whole - Week 1 will be held on November 7, 2019. Committee of the Whole - Week 2 will be held on November 14, 2019. Regional Council will be held on November 21, 2019. Meetings begin at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers.
