The Housing York Inc. Board meeting was called to order at 9:02 a.m. with Mayor Taylor in the chair.

Mayor Taylor acknowledged the upcoming retirement of Rick Farrell, General Manager, Housing York Inc., advising that this is Mr. Farrell's final Housing York Inc. Board meeting.

Mayor Taylor praised Mr. Farrell for his insight, innovative ideas, competence and passion, indicating that he will be leaving a void, but he will also be leaving a very strong staff team.

Katherine Chislett, President of Housing York Inc. highlighted Mr. Farrell's unparalleled reputation and advised that Kerry Hobbs, Director of Operations for Housing York Inc. will be the Acting General Manager while a replacement is being sought.

Staff provided an update on the status of the Unionville Seniors Affordable Housing Development project, indicating that the site servicing work has begun.  Specifically, work on the parking lot for the community centre has started and, in October, work will begin on the water mains, sanitary and storm sewers.  As well, staff advised that the building permit application has been submitted to the City of Markham and is anticipated to be received at the end of October.
