Council approve the Transit Bus Fleet Electrification Plan, including transition of the Region’s bus fleet to clean electric bus technology by the Region’s target of 2051, based on Scenario 1 outlined in this report. Electric bus purchases to be subject to Council approval of the capital budget each year. Council authorize staff to continue to work with the Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium and other appropriate agencies to identify funding opportunities and submit appropriate applications to offset the increased capital costs of electric buses, as these application opportunities arise.
